Yes! I made it! I managed to sketch a face every day for 30 days, and I am so happy! Happy because I achieved my goal, happy because I did something new in the area of sketching and drawing, going outside of my own comfort zone.
I did not make any great drawings, but I quite like some of my sketches – and they were all great fun to make. As you can see I drew them all in a sketchbook, and combining text, image, sketch – making a page layout – was an important part of this project for me.
Here are a few faces for you:
Day 15
Day 17
Day 18
Day 27
Day 28
Day 29
New challenges are at my desk – hopefully they will be as enjoyable as the great face task!
these are wonderful. i like the idea of going blind first. i think i’ll try that.
Yes, sketching blind is a great way to get to know one’s subject!
Very nice, Sigrun! I like your drawing style and the vivid colors.
Thank you, Sean!
What a lovely post. These are great pages! And interesting to see how your drawing got bolder and more confident and even more joyful as the month wore on. Terrific!
Thank you – and yes, I am getting bolder it seems … 😉
But these are wonderful! I do hope you’ll keep going!
Thank you, Beth! Hopefully the inspiration and joy will stay with me for a while …
🙂
These are so, so beautiful. How talented you are. I knew and yet am amazed by these portraits.
And congratulations!
Dear Cynthia, you are much to kind! But I do find a lot of joy in sketching these days, and finding joy is such a wonderful thing!
Congratulations! I don’t set challenges like that, maybe I should. In any case, your work is full of humor and freshness and life – wonderful.
Thank you! I find setting challenges useful … sometimes.
🙂
This is the best kind of “face book” !! 😀
ha-ha: facebook – how come I din’t think of it?!?

The sketchbook so essential. This is a great idea that I might try too. Thanks
