my week in painting – visual brief

In the beginning things look rather nice and tidy –
but nice & tidy is no longer my goal

After layer upon layer with collage and paint … and more paint … and all kinds of scribbling — the time comes to wrap it up. This is as far as I can go with these at the moment –

This is wonderful to see – there’s so much going on! Malva moshata was a favorite garden flower back when I used to garden – I don’t see it much these days so thank you for the lovely drawing. The collages with plant details show the hand and mind at work in an appealing way. I like the colors you’re using and the balanced compositions, especially in “By then the world…” and the last one.
Thank you! What I really love about this way of working is the lack of control – I respond to whats in front of me, but the elements there also have their own conversation, and in a way the picture is telling me what it wants …
…as long as you’re listening…which you are. 🙂
Wonderful! I like the changes from the first sketch to the last mixed media works! The three last pictures are my favourites, the one in the middle I like most. Maybe because of the writing, that attracts me always. The collage are interesting too. I like your sentence “the lack of control”! I love that too. The moment of surprising yourself, not knowing what is going to happen and then, casually, experience something about yourself 🙂
