It might not seem like a big deal. Just an unordered group of wild plants. But look again: the subject – grass & wildflowers – might look rather ordinary, but the rendering of this little piece of nature is not. Das große Rasenstück makes us see beauty in things usually not noticed, not valued – preserving its presence for all future.
This rater small painting (40.3 cm × 31.1 cm) is today considered one of the masterpieces of Dürer’s realistic nature studies. You can find out more here:
