What I hoped to find in Alain de Botton’s exhibition in Amsterdam was a new way of introducing art to a general public. A way of communication which didn’t totally ridicule the art in question trough overly simplification, but which would make it possible, also for non-experts, to discover the abundance of art.
I guess what I hoped for, without being able to put my hope into words, was the kind of experience one can sense in the work of Ann Hamilton (even without being physical present in her show).
ANN HAMILTON: the event of a thread
losing oneself in art
A wonderful combination of sight and sound in Paul’s video. Thank you for posting this.
