what is authoritarianism?

Living in a winter nation I get to see a lot of Russia these days, that is; Russia as it likes to present itself through the Olympics. Living in a society praising equality, there are several things about  Russian leadership (as presented through media) which strikes me as rather odd…

The Philosophers Mail claims that authoritarianism is basically a defenses and suggests psychotherapy as a solution – I’m not so sure, I believe there must be structural-cultural reasons for leaderships like Putin’s. But anyways, the text is rather entertaining:

Psychotherapy for Vladimir Putin

I am not one to get pulled into political debates (at all) … but when it comes to babies crying in their bed, I became curious. I imagine at best Mr.P will go in circles through his own glass maze, but at worst, those superpowers next to him will care and an incident could happen. Again, I am no one *ever* to judge or speculate on politicians (except maybe ex prez. “W” Bush) but I did learn something about myself from reading the article, so thanks ! 🙂

like this: “The personality troubles of celebrities and politicians or tycoons do not mark them out as unusual. What we see in them is only our own difficulties displayed on a larger, more public, canvas”.

suddenly a small & private life is quite all right
