Reflection is critical for development and well-being.

Mindful reflection is not just important in an academic context — it’s also essential to our ability to make meaning of the world around us. Inward attention is an important contributor to the development of moral thinking and reasoning and is linked with overall socioemotional well-being.

    Thanks for the article. I agree that reflection is a sorely needed skill. Daydreaming also lets us decompress the information we receive, allows us to make unseen connections, and aids us to develop new ways of thinking, all crucial to help us adapt to a rapidly changing world.

  2. It is difficult to daydream when one has no time for reflection, or for boredom. Such a useful thing, though–daydreaming. Thanks for the article!
